Social Distancing - Part 2
I had some ideas on "Social Distancing" due to the Coronavirus. Just for fun I decided on the TP issue - you know - there is NONE to be found! Rather than greet each other with an elbow bump, these two are elbowing their way through the store looking for you know what!

Social Distancing...part 1
Coronavirus - taking a break from socializing - staying in the studio to keep my mind off the craziness going on in the world today. Art cures all things!
11x14 canvas - collage background
add a little white paint

Orchids
All of my orchids are blooming - they love their spot in on the window sill in my studio.
Obviously, the shoe box is not a window sill - I placed the plant there to see it better while I was painting :-)

It was fun to paint flowers and not a portrait for a change!

She Cried Her Eyes Out...
Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to cry? That's how I've been feeling for awhile now. Caring for a loved one who has short term memory issues is hard. I try to keep the words "don't you remember?" out of my vocabulary but...
Taking on most of the daily responsibilities, being a single car family, doctor appointments; worrying about what the future may bring and hoping I can cope; needing to take time for myself - but feel guilty doing so - blah, blah, blah. We have our good days and bad days. Tomorrow will be better.

Give the girl a hand...
Started blocking in my drawing...thinking the vignette was not a good idea...drawing hands is always a challenge, but I keep on trying.

Now what...
I love to create acrylic backgrounds for my oil paintings. It's a mindless endeavor - quick and easy. Spray water bottle, stencils, one big fat brush and even my fingers - it's just fun.
I haven't yet decided on the foreground. Tomorrow I'll get my charcoal out and put some marks on the canvas and see where it leads. Who knows - it could be brilliant or not - it's the journey that counts. This canvas had another painting on it - heavy coats of gesso over top adds some texture before adding the acrylic background. I like to paint large - most of the background will most likely disappear after the foreground is complete - adding a bit of mystery, don't you think?

I added a vignette with watered down Intense color blocks
