Clematis
The Clematis are blooming like crazy - so happy to see color in my yard. It's amazing - one day it's a green vine - the next it's full of blossoms!
I'm calling this one done!

Spring Time and the Might Oak
I finished this piece with oil paints. It was a challenge to create the illusion of budding leaves. Mixing only Cadmium Yellow Lemon and Lamp Black, I made three shades of yellow/green. I'm satisfied with the end result. 20x20 oil paint on stretched canvas.

Singing the Blues
My darling husband is in memory care. I miss him so much and have to wait a few more days before I go visit. He needs to acclimate to his new surroundings. I know this makes sense, but my heart is breakinging. I have a niggling feeling that he might not remember me...
The days are dragging by. I set up his room at memory care - it needs a little more love. I painted two small works just for him. He loves to look at my art - whether it's good or bad - makes no difference to him.
9x12 stretch canvas - texture added with heavy gesso - backgrounds painted haphazardly with acrylic paint. Easy to see what my mood was when I started these. Happily, my mood lightened once I got going. I have a couple of floater frames that will make these look great on his walls.

A basketful of posies...
Waste Not - Want Not. I like putting a layer of gesso over an existing painting and starting all over again. I can't remember what piece I gessoed over - it really doesn't matter...just ready to try something new. The layers it creates add to the interest and history of the piece.

Taking a break before finishing up with this work in progress.
