An Illustration...

Drawing in Photoshop Elements - fun, interesting, time-consuming and...

A simple line drawing in black & white in PSE adding color and textures - a good way to work with layers.  This was a fun learning experience, but took so much time!

Celebrate...

Using everyday household items, I created a doll celebrating my inner child.


My method 
masking tape to join the pieces together

doll shape covered with paper clay and left to dry

loving thoughts for my inner child printed on deli paper, adhered with matte medium

Spools of Thread...

Vintage spools of thread and buttons too.  The shelves in the haberdasher's shop in Sherbrooke Village, Nova Scotia were filled with sewing memorabilia.  

A stitched brush added a nice "frame" to the photo.

Collage...

One definition of collage is "a technique of composing a work of art by pasting on a single surface various materials not normally associated with one another..."

The background is one my own textures.  The individual components are comprised of clip art butterflies and a hand, assorted brushes, self-portrait, Photoshop Elements shapes.  Topped off with the "DreamWonder" texture.
