Funny Girl
I like to make dolls out of odds and ends. I've got a nice collection of vintage child-size shoe forms which make great feet. The legs are wooden textile spools which I've cut down and painted. The face is made of fabric, needle sculpted and painted. I drew the hands on Shrinky Dink plastic. The shoulders are made from an old Japanese ruler; arms are chopsticks (cut to size) that I bought on a recent trip to Chicago. The body and crown are made of upholstery fabric.

Doodles
Book pages painted and stamped with acrylic paints. Image drawn with pencil, painted with acrylic paint and markers. Doodles added to left hand page. I adhered the buttons as set forth in the instructions. I chose to add the edge treatment only on the top of the page and down part of the side. My intention was to make the buttons look like additional flowers flowing from the hat. Working with the wire is very frustrating - at least for me! Using wire and getting it to lie flat will take lots of practice.

Saltimbanco
My husband and I attended Cirque Du Soleil's "Saltimbanco" show last night. It was fabulous! The costumes were colorful and exciting.
I've been working on an altered book and thought last night's performance would be fun to add to the book.
The background pages were painted with a mixture of wheat paste and acrylic paint. Once dry, I sketched the performer, colored it using acrylic paint, color pencils and Staedtler fineliner pens.

Beach Walk
Sunday mornings are reserved for my beach walk. I get down there before sunrise and have the whole beach to myself, with the exception of a few fishermen on the pier. On this morning, the tide was out and I had thought to bring my camera.
I think these "moon" shots are really neat.
The moon was so bright - lighting up the entire beach.
