Qwerty

I must admit having to look up QWERTY in Wikipedia.  Imagine my surprise to find that it is a typewriter keyboard.  As luck would have it, I own a vintage Remington portable typewriter!

How did we do before the Net and Wikipedia? :) My University life would have been sooooo much easier with both of them, LOL!

I'm shaking just looking at that typewriter. I used to panic whenever we had to take a timed typing quiz in my typing class. {{shudder}}

I do love the look of these old manual machines. Plus they make great boat anchors.

That is a really cool old typewriter. I never took a typing class and now regret it as we type all day long on computers...

My grandfather had an old typewriter similar to this- I wonder whatever happened to it?? Anyway, great pic and how did you get the definition to look like a piece of paper?

When I took typing in college I had to revert to two fingers to type fast enough to pass the final test. Been typing with two fingers ever since.

For some reason I think that would be a great name for a mystery novel -- QWERTY -- or a spy novel. I love your typewriter. It's beautiful!

That is a beautiful, antique typewriter. Those are hard to find now because everyone buys them to take the keys off for jewelry. That is a great photo. Love the tattered, typed sheet of paper in the typewriter.

I remember smoking cigars, drinking whiskey and banging out late-night deadline stories about government corruption on a Remington back in the old days of journalism, when it was still a business that only the tough survived.

No I don't. I made that crap up to see if I could tap into your sentimental side. We were computers by the time I got into journalism. Thank god.

Great photo, though, as usual.
