Sherbrooke Village, Nova Scotia highlights CRAFTSMANship from days gone by. It's hard to imagine setting the loom up. Evidently it takes many hours to do so before the weaver can begin her magic.
My eldest son took up weaving for a while. He was good at it, but it didn't stick, and I recently put the loom up for sale on Craigslist. It's not as fancy as the one in your photo, but I was impressed with how much labor and patience it takes to make a potholder or washcloth.
I went through a weaving phase. Loved the weaving itself, but didn't have the patience for dressing the loom. That's me... no patience for the long haul. *sigh*
I've been to a few sheep and wool fairs as well as artisan open houses. I was exhausted after watching the weavers dress the looms. I gained a new appreciation for anything handwoven.
Something I would LOVE to do. There are some people at work who have small looms their children use... I really want to buy one. Wow and what a great shot!

Brilliant close up and shows just how difficult that job must be to do, all those threads...wow.
My sister once showed me how to set up the loom, and I have to say I would never have the patience to do it. Great take on the theme today!

My God that looks complicated. Great photo.
Beautiful picture!!! I would never have the patience to so that.
That is a fantastic shot for today's theme. My daughter took a class to learn to weave on a big loom. I was jealous!! Maybe one day I'll try it.
Absolutely fabulous photo! And absolutely fabulous for this theme!
Thank goodness for modern conveniences...
Beautiful capture.

Love the crafted product but I'm, also, one with no patience.
Great capture...and you are right it can take days to set up a loom.

It's posts like these that help me to appreciate how difficult it was back in the day to create.
