Last Sunday morning on my beach walk, I was lucky enough to see this magnificent blue heron AND I had a camera with me. Thankfully, the bird stood still long enough for me to get this shot. Photo edited in Aperture.
Texture Tuesday's theme this week is flowers - oh no - I don't do flowers - hmmm...what to do. Inspiration - add a flower to the blue heron photo. What do you think - does that work?
A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to see this painting at the Prado in Madrid. (I have seen it in books before and always admired it.) I made a quick sketch and thought it would be interesting to make a small wall hanging.

Hi! BLUE HERO and the flower does work very well. This is absolutely stunning image :)
Hi, Pat. That blue heron photo is beautiful--what an amazing bird, don't think I've ever seen one. Also enjoyed your interpretation of the Sea Nymph. Very lovely.

very nice Pat
What a great capture! And the flower really adds to the photo :)
Love the heron except when they come looking for my fish in the pond. Your rendition of the painting was amazing. Valerie
Ha, now that is funny, love the flower addition!
Love them both, but oh! How the blue heron captures my heart!
I love blue herons. Nice job staying within the cue of flowers!

clever to add the flower...beautiful birds, so graceful & gorgeous, lovely image!!
Neat idea!!!
Pat, what a gem, I've never seen a blue heron up close, how lucky you were to be at the right place and time to take this shot!I love your deep sea creative artwork. Yx
We occasionally spot blue herons here in Alaska, but most of the ones I've seen were in Washington and Oregon. You did a lovely capture and the addition of the tulip is too cute :)
Fun take on the challenge!
