Making Marks...

For me, making the first mark on a new sketchbook is always the hardest.  My dear friend, Betty, gave me a beautiful handmade journal for Christmas.  I've been afraid to mess it up - but finally decided now was the time to make my mark!

Inspired by the sound of a rooster crowing this morning, I started with a simple pencil sketches; added a little ink and and colored pencils.

Texture Tuesday challenge this week is a black and white photo and any of Kim's textures.

Mouseover to see original.

I know how that feels. I have several blank journals waiting to be used! Sigh.

That rooster looks super in monochrome!

This is terrific! I know exactly what you mean about making that first mark in the journal, but when you have your talent, I wouldn't worry too much! Will be posting by this weekend the journal making art workshop I was in this past weekend. Now I'm really afraid to write in my new one!

Your rooster drawing is delightful--it inspires mixed feelings in me, actually, having had to kick away more than a few rooster attacks . . .
