A rose is a rose...
Even though these roses are destined to be tossed out, I think they are beautiful. Yellow roses have always been a favorite of mine.

Another surprise!
My little Christmas cactus which resides in my studio is blooming! There are a number of buds waiting to pop open - makes me so happy!

gift giving
It's that time of year again. There's always someone on my list that is hard (impossible!) to buy for. I like the challenge of making something instead.
Using simple materials (oatmeal box, masking tape, plaster tape, wood bead, head of industrial bobbin), I created a lovely box to hold a number of my personally designed note cards with envelopes.

Beach buds...
I came across these sweet little flowers on the beach this morning. Someone stuck them into one of the wood pilings. It was a nice surprise - better than the dead fish I found later on! Red tide must be back...

Super Moon...
The super moon was a non event in Naples this morning - too many clouds. I did take some lovely i-phone photos of the sunrise while on my walk.

thank you...
I received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers today as a thank you from SAQA for serving as curator for the People & Portraits exhibition. It was a surprise! The flowers are opening and look great in my studio.

Shooting the Moon...
The moon was brilliant this morning. Seeing the moon set made my Sunday morning extra special. Gentle breeze, warm temperatures, nary a soul on the beach - heavenly.

Working on Christmas ornaments...
While working on these ornaments - drilling hanging holes - a body part flew off the drill bit and sailed across the studio to a place unknown. I've looked high and low and cannot find it. I made a new a one so surely NOW the original will turn up now!

Mum's the Word...
Rainy Saturday not much to photograph except a bouquet of mums on the kitchen table. The flowers are fading fast. Using my i-phone and Leonardo app transformed it into something more vibrant!

I wonder what tomorrow will bring...
This cactus is thriving in its little place in paradise. I took photos of it a little more than a week ago. Those blooms are gone now and have been replaced with these. There are a ton of new buds on the cactus. I can hardly wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Finished...
Three days and lots of layering - now she's finished. The only thing left to do is write her story...

somewhere...
A blank canvas - that will never do - I've got to start somewhere - make some marks, add some background paint and begin...
Where this is going is anyone's guess.
