How To Be An Artist

On Monday, a friend and I attended the Artist's Studio Tour sponsored by the Naples Museum of Art.  I love this event.  The artists on the tour are extremely talented and their mediums ran the gamut.  It is so much fun to see where each artist works.  Some studio spaces were tucked into a small corner while others had huge spaces with wide windows and lots of light.  Most of the artists had wonderful gardens too - tons of inspiration all around.

In Barrett Edwards' studio, I saw the neatest little frame print on the wall and Barrett let me take a picture of it.  I recreated it in PSE and share it with you here.

I framed this and it now hangs in my studio!

Go to Pink Saturday for more inspiration.

It's taken me a bit to understand "How To Be An Artist" but about a year ago I embraced it and have accomplished many of these dictates & have never looked back. How inspiring (I immediately printed this...thank you!).

Hi Pat! I thoroughly enjoyed reading "How to be an Artist". Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful writing. I think that's truly the way to feed our souls. After all, that's where our art comes from. If we don't nourish our souls, our creativity dies. Have a lovely weekend. Terri

Pat, I had to enlarge the words to How to be an Artist and I loved what it said. I hope you are following those words. This is definitely written by a creative mind. Big smile!

This is amazing because yesterday I was trying to think of this exact poster I had seen in a books I thought I gave to Good Will. Long story there.....Anyway, once I read the entire thing on your post, I remembered, SARK books all about creativity. Susan Kennedy books, like nothing you have seen before. Thank you for printing this, now I only have to find my books again. I would so love to take the artist studio tour. I am actually making a studio in what was our breakfront room. Another long story....lol Blessings on your week. I would love to hear more about the tour too!
