Clutter...

We're putting our house up for sale.  One piece of advice our realtor gave us was to declutter - oh my!  So many of my little treasures are considered clutter - who knew (besides my husband - goes without saying - right?!)  This galvanized tub is filled with shoe forms, wood stamps and metal batik stamps.

I've already thrown a ton of stuff away; filled boxes to donate to St. Vincent de Paul.  Still there are some things I cannot part with.  I sure hope no one feels the need to look in the closets - they will be crammed...with good stuff...

One thing moving does is help one "clean house" literally. Best of luck with the sale of your home. BTW; I'm always on the look out for good art journaling stuff if you things that need a good home. Feel free to email me.

Shoe forms. Now that is something you just don't see every day :-) Have you bought another house or know where you're moving next?

That's good advice. I really really need to de-clutter!!

I hope the whole sale process goes well. I need to de-clutter too. Love the shoe forms, they can't be clutter can they?

Oh, I feel the same way! I've been trying to de-clutter our home, too. It's very hard, because, like you, what many might consider junk, I consider treasure. Still, it feels good to have more room to breathe, more space, more openness with less stuff. Perhaps we will be content to take pictures of our little treasures and then pass them on to someone else to enjoy.

We listed our house for sale this week too and I am going through exactly the same thing in the decluttering process. I knew it had to be done but to to hear someone tell you to do it is pretty hard!

No plans to move but I'm doing the same -- I make a point to spend 30 minutes a day (or so) in the basement. So far, the piles of stuff for Salvation Army are building up, and I've added more than a fw trash bags to the weekly pick-up. That said, no one but me can tell... I have a long way to go.

We moved 5 years ago and the clutter has started to grow again* sigh. Have a great weekend.

This is always a good reminder to me to keep up with the decluttering now before that move sometime in the next 10 years.

The shoe forms and printing blocks are such beautiful treasures!...certainly keepers! Good luck with the move. It's such a big job to get ready to list a house!

Good Luck with the house sale. I am not a fan of clutter, but seem to collect my share.

This is why we can't face moving, although I would quite like to move to the coast.

Love the image....such lovely warm colours!

you will feel so much lighter without all the stuff. One of the reasons I love photography is that I can take a picture of stuff and then get rid of it...of course that is also one of the reasons I love stuff...
