Color Pop

A drawing from my journal.  You can learn more about this project here.

"Sad Blue Eyes"

color pop and texture added

Both versions are dramatic.  I prefer my original drawing mainly because the added texture and color pop warm the drawing up so much.  What do you think?

The original really gives emphasis to the blue eyes.

I think the cool feel of the original better conveys sadness. Very dramatic!

Wow...great drawing! I prefer the original because I tend to prefer "cool" colors, for some reason!

Wonderful illustration...I prefer the 2nd warmer one...just my taste for warmer instead of cooler. Both are lovely!!

I really like your original drawing. You are very talented. I'm lucky if I can draw a recognizable stick figure.

It's hard to chose. The first image is striking but the second image has warmth (color wise) to it. Would love to be able to draw. :0)

I too prefer your original drawing. the blues of the eyes pop and the cold tones match the somewhat sad face.

I prefer the original as well ~ the bluish eyes and the melancholy in them is more vivid in the original picture .., love the way you can capture feelings and moods in your drawings!

They both are so good! The first one does really show off not only the eye color but the emotion behind them as well. So good!

I prefer the 2nd warmer one, but of course they are both wonderful Pat.

I think the Original is probably my favorite. It has a more serene feel to it that I find appealing.

Yes, I like the first because of the pop of the eyes. I wonder if a different blending mode with the texture would have retained more of what you like in your original.

Love that face!
