Beach Treasures...

Over the years I have been very lucky to find these treasures on the beach.  They sit in a wire basket on the coffee table in my living room.

"Bamboo Dream" texture courtesy of Pixel Dust Photo Art - adds a beautiful element to these photos!

The "Bamboo Dream" texture was expanded over the original photos so that more of the text characters covered the image.  Soft Light blending mode @ 84%.

Difference blending mode @ 100% then a couple of Topaz Labs BuzSim filters added - cool, huh?!

Beach Hearts...

I walk 7+ miles every Sunday morning on the beach and have been doing so for well over 13 years.  It's dark when I start out (before 6AM).  The beach is my own - rarely do I see another person for at least an hour.  I especially love it when the tide is low - makes walking much easier - and when the moon is full - heavenly!  This morning the moon was just a whisper, but the sky was filled with stars.

I found a couple of "beach hearts."  How appropriate - Valentine's Day is just a couple of days away!

I do not know what this heart is made of.  I found another larger chunk a couple of weeks ago.  If you can identify it, please let me know.  I think its texture is beautiful.

Color Pop

Both versions are dramatic.  I prefer my original drawing mainly because the added texture and color pop warm the drawing up so much.  What do you think?

Staying Afloat

I ran across a tutorial for photographing fruit submerged in seltzer water.  I thought I'd give it a try.

I must buy a bigger vase - the one I have on hand is very small - not quite 3x3.  It would be hard to place any fruit in it.  Besides that, I didn't have any fruit in the house that I thought would look good floating in the seltzer - a banana - doubt it.  I did have some lovely flowers on the kitchen table and thought that might work instead.   

The flower kept floating around, so it was necessary to hold it down.  I swished it around to create the bubbles.

This is my favorite!

Minimalist

I took a camera with me on my Sunday morning walk.  My DSLR seemed too heavy to bring with me since I walk at a fast pace.  Instead, I brought a small point and shoot camera kept in the glove box (for emergencies).   

I espied this little scrap on the beach as I was finishing up my walk.  At first I thought it was a piece of ceramic, but it turned out to be a soap wrapper.  Lucky me, I got a good photo and ephemera for my art journal!
