What if I mixed gel medium with acrylic paint(s) and applied it to the canvas with the back of a plastic spoon...flowers perhaps? This will require more experimentation.
After seeing so many amazing works of art that come from your experimenting I have full confidence that this will turn into another of your masterpieces, just give that creative mind of yours a little time and space :)
