Ash of Roses

I have no idea what kind of rose this is.  We were on our way to be seated for lunch at a table along the river in Prague when I saw it.  I thought it was beautiful despite the fact some of the blooms were fading away rather quickly.

My original photo with addition of a grungy texture.

  1. Thanks so much for the "mouse-over" effect. I really love comparing the before and after of adding texture. Even in the midst of being seated at a table to dine out, you managed to capture this sweet little rose and it's surroundings - a beautiful view!

  3. That is a beautiful rose. The texture brings out the petal shape.

  8. Yes--I definitely like the desaturated version better. Pink and gray just go together!

  9. I don't know either but I love the color -- no matter how you slice it!

  10. The edit really brings continuity to the whole picture of not only the vibrant pink rose, but the wilting and weathered on the bush as well.

Beautifully done. (and, for what it's worth - what's in a name? A rose by any other name would still smell sweet. ... or so I've heard) :)

  11. I love how one is so fresh and the others are fading. Definitely a way to show here today and gone tomorrow.
