Such a melancholy and wonderful photo. Yes, I do miss the days when people actually sat on front porches and knew their neighbors, took walks and visited. Not so true much where I live anymore. However, virtual visiting is nice sometimes though as we get to wander to each person we've met as they share their page. :)
Awe, the days when a summer's evening was spent on the porch, neighbors gossiping, kids playing or running around trying to catch a firefly or two. What I wouldn't give for those large front porches filled with rockers and swings.
A covered porch, a porch swing, and the warm tropical southern breeze along with a tall glass of iced tea...the tinkling of a windchime...
ReplyDeleteA perfect Spring day. Yes, a porch. Just don't see that on the newer homes much these days.
To me that sums up that part of the world we don't have those beautiful porches in the UK.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes! When people actually knew their neighbors and enjoyed watching the world go by! Lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteOh, the stories it could tell!
ReplyDeleteSimply Charming!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet the flowers are still blooming!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful porch. The steps are great. The rocking chair reminds me of the one my parents had on their porch. Wonderful edit.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories.
There is nothing like a front porch. Sitting and watching the world go by. Keeping track of the neighbors (!!!). Love the added text.
