If you ever have the opportunity to travel to Cinque Terre in Italy, do it! Five villages located on the rugged Ligurian Sea coastline. (Monterosso al Mare, Vernaazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.) Hiking paths, trains and boats connect the villages. Cars cannot reach them from the outside. Starting at Monterosso al Mare, we hiked through the five villages to Riomaggiore. The hike took us about 4-1/2 hours. We decided to take the train back to Monterosso al Mare. It was a great experience.

How lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteCinque Terre are marvelous, aren't they? Even after the horrible flood of last year.
The texture adds just the right touch of elegance to what is already a beatuiful place (and photo).
