Talk about recycling!

This is the smallest Post Office in Florida.  Can you believe it - this teeny tiny closet sized, 7x8 foot building used to be an irrigation pipe shed for a tomato farm.  In 1953, it was pressed into service after a fire destroyed the Ochopee general store - which also housed the post office.  It is still in service today.
The sky was blue, blue, blue the day I photographed this little post office.  Nothing would do but to add a new cloud-filled sky - a little grungy texture and postage brush add a bit of drama.

  3. You have taken some tremendous photos but this one is really at the top of the list. I can see this as a poster or notecards sold in the local shops. Very beautifully done.

  8. I've never seen a post office this tiny, not even in a town of 3,000!
I like the grunge edit, I've tried it, but hasn't fit my photos. I love so much the postmark effect; it's from my childhood days according to the year. :D

  22. Saddly all of our Post Office's are going to look like that before long. They are being forced out of business by some very unreasonable legislation that needs to be rescinded. That said ... it is adorable and I love the way you fixed it up with it's own postal stamp. Fun ...
